A Wonderful Discovery!

IMG_2894[1]

Oh my gosh, did I ever tell you how amazing Lemon Essential Oil is? I have been using this oil for a lot of different things and I am amazed at all the great things this oil has done for me and my family!

First time I ever used this oil was to get stickier than sticky stuff off of my hands. I was moving an old desk at my parent’s home and the sticky goo that got on them would not come off with anything else I tried. I remembered reading somewhere that some one had used Lemon Essential Oil to get stuck on stickers off her child’s clothes so I thought maybe I should give it a try. The sticky stuff came right off and I was able to rinse it off with water!

The next thing I have been using this oil on is crayon, marker and pen marks. I never had a problem with this before my second kid came around. Now I got writing on everything, anything my youngest can write on she has. So far this has gotten crayon, marker and pen off of the table, the wall and chairs. Here are some before and after of Red, that is right Red, crayon on the wall. And you all know how hard it is to get Red anything out of anything, it is next to impossible to get that out of anything! I put three to four drops of Lemon Essential Oil in a small glass of water and then dabbed my washcloth in it to use on the wall. Make sure you do a test section first to make sure it doesn’t take your paint off. This was regular household paint.

Before I cleaned with Lemon Essential Oil and Water.

I have also used it to get off pen marks off of my kids with great results. I just never have taken before and after pics of that. The next time this happens I will do that. I am hoping it won’t but we all know how kids can be. I just put a drop of lemon and use a cloth to get the marks off.

It is amazing how many things you can use these Essential Oils for! So far I haven’t really needed to use any kind of household cleaners with chemicals because these oils have worked out amazingly!

My First Workshop

My First Oil Class

I had a wonderful time holding my first workshop at my husband’s Aunt’s house. I shared my experiences with using Young Living Essential Oils and had a great time answering questions. I made a Peppermint and a Lavender Sugar Scrub to give to all the guests at this workshop.

One of the things that I found amazing was that when I was in school I always dreaded the speech days, I hated getting in front of the class and talking. But this was completely different I didn’t have any nerves or the jitters to get in front of a crowd of people and speak. This just proves to me how much I love these essential oils and want to share that love with everyone around me.

I loved doing this and explaining the different Essential Oils and what they could do for people along with spot lighting some of Young Living’s other wonderful products they sell. I truly can’t wait to hold my next workshop as this was a great success! Thank you to everyone that came and enjoy that sugar scrub!

And if you are looking for the recipe for the sugar scrub here it is:

2 1/2 cups of Sugar

8oz of Almond Oil(Grapeseed Oil could work as well) I used Almond though

30 drops of your choice of Young Living Essential Oil

Mix all this together in a metal bowl, I then scooped these into 4oz jars to pass out at the party. The mix made 6 of these jars with some extra to put in a half pint jar. This recipe will fill 4 Half Pint Jars. Before you put the lid on put a teaspoon of oil on the top. This will help it not dry out before you use it. I just eyeballed that part.

Upper Respiratory System Roller

Roller:
10 drops each: Mel A, Lemon, Purification, Thieves, 5 drops of Lavender – top the roller with Carrier Oil.
Apply: I roll it on my finger then rub my finger on (not in) and behind my ear. I have also been using this over my sinuses. Been helping with the congestion by opening up my nostrils.

I have been doing Saline as well along with warm washcloth compresses on my sinuses. It is helping to open my passages up. Today is a lot better than it has been. I am pretty much pulling out all stops to get rid of this junk. Remember when you are doing this to also drink lots of fluids to flush all this out of your system. You want to stay really hydrated to help your body rid itself of the problem.

IMG_2368[1]

UPDATE:

I am not back to 100% yet but I am feeling a ton better than the day I wrote this post. I have also added a drop of Lavender and Frankincense Essential Oil with two to three drops of Jojoba oil. I just add this in my hand and then apply to my sinuses, and ears as well. My nose is starting to feel a lot better but my ears are still kind of clogged, but they are easier to pop now than they were when this all started. I am still using my roller as well, I use this more when I am going to be lying down to help my ears drain easier. I am still doing the warm compresses, just not nearly as much as the first two days, and I am still continuing to drink lots of water and fluids. I have also purchased a Netti Pot which I will be using once this clears up. I am hoping to use that to ward off future Sinus issues, as I get a lot of them when it is Allergy season. Which here in the West it has already begun because everything is in full bloom. My problem is more the flowering trees than the flowers on the ground.

The Amazing Thieves Cleaner

ThievesCleanerThis cleaner is amazing! I am loving it so much! For those that have kids you know how messy they can be, well this thing has taken stains out of my couch that I didn’t think would ever come out of it! I have tried every product out there and nothing, NOTHING worked, this did though! I thought maybe people were not telling the truth on all those Facebook Lounges just to sell more of this stuff, but OMG it does work wonders. Below is a before and after shot of my couch arm:

BeforeThievesCleaner

Before Cleaning with Thieves Cleaner

AfterThievesCleaner

After One Application of Thieves Cleaner

Amazing isn’t it? I was so impressed and excited I did all the furniture in the house! The dilution I used for this was 1cap full to 2 cups of water. I used a glass spray bottle which I purchased through Abundant Health. I really am amazed with this cleaner and now I can understand all the hype around it! I pretty much won’t need another cleaner in the house with this baby around! ThievesCleanerMixture1capto2cupswaterHere are some other ways to use this very versatile cleaner around the house:

  1. Refrigerator: Remove all items from the refrigerator. Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 2 cups of water. Clean the outside of the fridge, including top, doors, and exterior water and ice areas. Clean the inside of the fridge, including shelves, produce drawers, doors, ice tray, etc.
  2. Kitchen appliances: Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 1 cups of water. Clean stove tops, ovens, microwaves, toasters, toaster ovens, blenders, mixers, etc. To clean the interior of a microwave, fill a microwave safe container with 2 cups of water. Place in microwave and heat for 5-10 minutes. The steam will make it easy to clean up food and food particles.
  3. Light fixtures: First, dust light fixtures and bowls. Then, mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 3 1/2 cups of water. Clean fixtures, glass bowls, etc. to remove dirt and sticky residue.
  4. Kitchen pantry, bathroom vanity, cupboards, inside drawers, under sinks: Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 2 cups of water. Wipe down kitchen surfaces to remove dirt, sticky residue, etc. Consider placing a cotton ball with 2-3 drops of Thieves essential oil to keep areas under sinks, cupboards, etc. smelling clean.
  5. Wooden cabinets, tables, furniture: Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 1 cup of olive oil (add 2-3 drops of Lemon essential oil for a fresh lemon scent). Wipe down wooden cabinets, tables and other wooden furniture to remove dirt and clean surfaces.
  6. Sinks and counter tops: Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 3 1/2 cups of water in a spray bottle. Spray sinks, counter tops and back splash and wipe clean to remove dirt and grime.
  7. Garbage cans: For interior garbage cans, mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 3 1/2 cups of water in a spray bottle. Spray trash cans and wipe clean to remove dirt and grime. Consider placing a cotton ball with 2-3 drops of Thieves essential oil to keep trash can smelling clean. For exterior and heavy duty garbage cans, mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 2-3 cups of water (use less water for heavier degreasing) in a bucket. Take garbage cans outside and use cleaning cloth to thoroughly clean. Use spray hose to rinse and let dry outside.
  8. Toilets: To clean inside toilets, mix 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner to a toilet brush. Clean inside of toilet bowl and let sit for a few minutes before flushing. To clean outside of toilets, mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 3 1/2 cups of water in a spray bottle. Spray outside of toilet, flusher knob, on top and underneath toilet seat to naturally clean and disinfect.
  9. Mildew and grout: Add 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 1/2 cup of water in a spray bottle. Spray grout or surfaces with mildew. Let sit for a couple of minutes. Use a small brush to get mildew stains out. You may use less water for stronger concentration as needed.
  10. Windows, window sills and mirrors: Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 4-5 cups of water (add 2-3 drops of Lemon essential oil for a fresh lemon scent and/or 1 tsp of white vinegar for streak-free clean). Clean windows, sills and mirrors to remove dirt, sticky residue and grime.
  11. Walls, outlets and vents: First, dust all wall and outlet surfaces. Then, mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 3 1/2 cups of water. Clean walls, outlets and vents to remove dirt and grime.
  12. Floors: Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 4 cups of water (add 2-3 drops of Lemon essential oil for a fresh lemon scent and/or 1 tsp of white vinegar for streak-free clean). Clean windows, sills and mirrors to remove dirt, sticky residue and grime.
  13. Carpet cleaner: Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with about 6 cups of water and add to carpet or steam cleaner. Clean rugs, carpets and upholstery to remove dirt and grime. Be sure to spot test in an inconspicuous location first.
  14. Sofa and or other cloth/Micro Fiber Furniture: Add 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner to 2 to 3 cups of water depending on how dirty the furniture is, to a spray bottle, shake well then spray chair and wipe with a rag, let area dry. Be sure to spot test in an inconspicuous location first.
  15. Dishwasher detergent: Add 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner to the bottom of the dishwasher to clean dishes.
  16. Pots and pans: Mix 1/2 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 3cups of water to clean pots and pans.

  21. Stain remover: Got a tough stain on your clothes? Use Thieves Household Cleaner without dilution on the stain. Scrub gently with a small brush until the stain is gone.

ThievesCleaner01_edited-1So for those that are wondering what this cleaner is made of here you go, this is off of my group’s blog The Joy Droppers; Thieves Cleaner’s new formula boasts the most effective, 100 percent plant- and mineral-based ingredients available, including:

Vegetable-based surfactants like alkyl polyglucoside that are compliant with Green Seal and EPA Design for Environment (DfE) standards.
Biodegradable cutting agents like sodium methyl 2-sulfolurate and disodium 2-sulfolaurate from renewable sources.
Active ingredients like tetrasodium glutamate diacetate that are readily biodegradable and derived from food-approved amino acids.
The all-natural cleansing and disinfecting power of therapeutic-grade Thieves and lemon essential oils.
All of the ingredients that make up this new formulation are ecologically friendly, come from sustainable sources, have biodegradable properties, and none of them are petroleum-based. Not only that, every ounce of these ingredients received a “green” rating from the Environmental Working Group website—www.ewg.org—meaning that they are “good for me, good for the planet, and good for the community.”

MORE EFFECTIVE NATURAL CLEANSING

Quality was not compromised to make the new Thieves cleaner more ecologically responsible. With more Thieves and lemon essential oils than the original formula, the new Thieves cleaner disinfects and cleanses better than ever!

ECOLOGICALLY RESPONSIBLE PACKAGING

Thieves cleaner’s packaging remains recyclable, but with the option to purchase the standard 14-ounce bottle, or a 64-ounce economy size, you can do your part to cut down on packaging waste and production emissions.

WHAT IS “PLANT-BASED”?

Tracy Gibbs, PhD Pharmacognosy—the study of medicines derived from natural sources—consulted with Young Living on the development of the new Thieves cleaner. The term “plant-based” can cause some confusion, so we talked with Tracy about what it means to have a 100% plant- and mineral-based formula:

“Basically, if you trace and chemical back to its origin, it all comes from nature at some point; the key is in the extraction process,” Tracy says. “Plant-based ingredients are those extracted from the source without the use of synthetic chemicals—typically by using water or ethanol. When you use plant-based, biodegradable products you have zero impact on the environment. It’s important to use a natural household cleaner because it’s what you do every day that matters. That’s what determines your health, and where being environmentally friendly counts the most.”

Fortifying your home against germs, bacteria, and viruses has never been more important. With more and more germs becoming antibiotic-resistant, and with emerging viruses, your recourse should not be to chemical-laden cleaners and sprays, but to all-natural Thieves Household Cleaner.
