Upper Respiratory System Roller

Roller:
10 drops each: Mel A, Lemon, Purification, Thieves, 5 drops of Lavender – top the roller with Carrier Oil.
Apply: I roll it on my finger then rub my finger on (not in) and behind my ear. I have also been using this over my sinuses. Been helping with the congestion by opening up my nostrils.

I have been doing Saline as well along with warm washcloth compresses on my sinuses. It is helping to open my passages up. Today is a lot better than it has been. I am pretty much pulling out all stops to get rid of this junk. Remember when you are doing this to also drink lots of fluids to flush all this out of your system. You want to stay really hydrated to help your body rid itself of the problem.

IMG_2368[1]

UPDATE:

I am not back to 100% yet but I am feeling a ton better than the day I wrote this post. I have also added a drop of Lavender and Frankincense Essential Oil with two to three drops of Jojoba oil. I just add this in my hand and then apply to my sinuses, and ears as well. My nose is starting to feel a lot better but my ears are still kind of clogged, but they are easier to pop now than they were when this all started. I am still using my roller as well, I use this more when I am going to be lying down to help my ears drain easier. I am still doing the warm compresses, just not nearly as much as the first two days, and I am still continuing to drink lots of water and fluids. I have also purchased a Netti Pot which I will be using once this clears up. I am hoping to use that to ward off future Sinus issues, as I get a lot of them when it is Allergy season. Which here in the West it has already begun because everything is in full bloom. My problem is more the flowering trees than the flowers on the ground.

Valor Essential Oil Blend

VALOR v1.1Valor is a blend and a great one at that! Many people refer to this oil as the Chiropractor in a bottle. Valor essential oil blend is formulated to empower the mind, self-confidence, help with the body to self-correct its balance and alignment. We use this blend a lot in our household for pain, snoring, and sleep. It works quit well for a quiet nights rest! Me personally I love the smell of this blend, it reminds me of hiking in the upper alpine forests here in Washington. This Blend comes in a 5ml bottle or a convenient Roll on(I say convenient because you don’t have to mix or anything just roll it on, already comes diluted in their V-6 carrier oil).valor-ingredientsHere are some other uses for this great Essential Oil Blend:

  1. Rub a few drops of Valor on the bottoms of your feet and spine to help with alignment and ease back pain
  2. Apply 1 drop to the jaw line to help relieve symptoms of TMJ
  3. Rub 2 drops to bottom of feet, to your chest and neck to help relieve anxiety symptoms
  4. Apply a drop of valor to the bottom of each big toe to help with snoring
  5. Apply 1 drop of valor with 1 drop of carrier oil to back of neck to relieve Tension
  6. Diffuse 1 to 2 drops to help promote emotional strength, you may also just smell the open bottle as well.
  7. Can apply to help with someone that needs to stay focused

When you are using a series of Essential Oils and Valor is apart of that series always apply Valor first and wait 5 to 10 minutes before applying other oils(per the Essential Oils Pocket Reference Guide).

The Amazing Thieves Cleaner

ThievesCleanerThis cleaner is amazing! I am loving it so much! For those that have kids you know how messy they can be, well this thing has taken stains out of my couch that I didn’t think would ever come out of it! I have tried every product out there and nothing, NOTHING worked, this did though! I thought maybe people were not telling the truth on all those Facebook Lounges just to sell more of this stuff, but OMG it does work wonders. Below is a before and after shot of my couch arm:

BeforeThievesCleaner

Before Cleaning with Thieves Cleaner

AfterThievesCleaner

After One Application of Thieves Cleaner

Amazing isn’t it? I was so impressed and excited I did all the furniture in the house! The dilution I used for this was 1cap full to 2 cups of water. I used a glass spray bottle which I purchased through Abundant Health. I really am amazed with this cleaner and now I can understand all the hype around it! I pretty much won’t need another cleaner in the house with this baby around! ThievesCleanerMixture1capto2cupswaterHere are some other ways to use this very versatile cleaner around the house:

  1. Refrigerator: Remove all items from the refrigerator. Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 2 cups of water. Clean the outside of the fridge, including top, doors, and exterior water and ice areas. Clean the inside of the fridge, including shelves, produce drawers, doors, ice tray, etc.
  2. Kitchen appliances: Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 1 cups of water. Clean stove tops, ovens, microwaves, toasters, toaster ovens, blenders, mixers, etc. To clean the interior of a microwave, fill a microwave safe container with 2 cups of water. Place in microwave and heat for 5-10 minutes. The steam will make it easy to clean up food and food particles.
  3. Light fixtures: First, dust light fixtures and bowls. Then, mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 3 1/2 cups of water. Clean fixtures, glass bowls, etc. to remove dirt and sticky residue.
  4. Kitchen pantry, bathroom vanity, cupboards, inside drawers, under sinks: Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 2 cups of water. Wipe down kitchen surfaces to remove dirt, sticky residue, etc. Consider placing a cotton ball with 2-3 drops of Thieves essential oil to keep areas under sinks, cupboards, etc. smelling clean.
  5. Wooden cabinets, tables, furniture: Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 1 cup of olive oil (add 2-3 drops of Lemon essential oil for a fresh lemon scent). Wipe down wooden cabinets, tables and other wooden furniture to remove dirt and clean surfaces.
  6. Sinks and counter tops: Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 3 1/2 cups of water in a spray bottle. Spray sinks, counter tops and back splash and wipe clean to remove dirt and grime.
  7. Garbage cans: For interior garbage cans, mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 3 1/2 cups of water in a spray bottle. Spray trash cans and wipe clean to remove dirt and grime. Consider placing a cotton ball with 2-3 drops of Thieves essential oil to keep trash can smelling clean. For exterior and heavy duty garbage cans, mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 2-3 cups of water (use less water for heavier degreasing) in a bucket. Take garbage cans outside and use cleaning cloth to thoroughly clean. Use spray hose to rinse and let dry outside.
  8. Toilets: To clean inside toilets, mix 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner to a toilet brush. Clean inside of toilet bowl and let sit for a few minutes before flushing. To clean outside of toilets, mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 3 1/2 cups of water in a spray bottle. Spray outside of toilet, flusher knob, on top and underneath toilet seat to naturally clean and disinfect.
  9. Mildew and grout: Add 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 1/2 cup of water in a spray bottle. Spray grout or surfaces with mildew. Let sit for a couple of minutes. Use a small brush to get mildew stains out. You may use less water for stronger concentration as needed.
  10. Windows, window sills and mirrors: Mix 1 cap full of Thieves Household Cleaner with 4-5 cups of water (add 2-3 drops of Lemon essential oil for a fresh lemon scent and/or 1 tsp of white vinegar for streak-free clean). Clean windows, sills and mirrors to remove dirt, sticky residue and grime.

ThievesCleaner01_edited-1So for those that are wondering what this cleaner is made of here you go, this is off of my group’s blog The Joy Droppers; Thieves Cleaner’s new formula boasts the most effective, 100 percent plant- and mineral-based ingredients available, including:

Vegetable-based surfactants like alkyl polyglucoside that are compliant with Green Seal and EPA Design for Environment (DfE) standards.
Biodegradable cutting agents like sodium methyl 2-sulfolurate and disodium 2-sulfolaurate from renewable sources.
Active ingredients like tetrasodium glutamate diacetate that are readily biodegradable and derived from food-approved amino acids.
The all-natural cleansing and disinfecting power of therapeutic-grade Thieves and lemon essential oils.
All of the ingredients that make up this new formulation are ecologically friendly, come from sustainable sources, have biodegradable properties, and none of them are petroleum-based. Not only that, every ounce of these ingredients received a “green” rating from the Environmental Working Group website—www.ewg.org—meaning that they are “good for me, good for the planet, and good for the community.”

MORE EFFECTIVE NATURAL CLEANSING

Quality was not compromised to make the new Thieves cleaner more ecologically responsible. With more Thieves and lemon essential oils than the original formula, the new Thieves cleaner disinfects and cleanses better than ever!

ECOLOGICALLY RESPONSIBLE PACKAGING

Thieves cleaner’s packaging remains recyclable, but with the option to purchase the standard 14-ounce bottle, or a 64-ounce economy size, you can do your part to cut down on packaging waste and production emissions.

WHAT IS “PLANT-BASED”?

Tracy Gibbs, PhD Pharmacognosy—the study of medicines derived from natural sources—consulted with Young Living on the development of the new Thieves cleaner. The term “plant-based” can cause some confusion, so we talked with Tracy about what it means to have a 100% plant- and mineral-based formula:

“Basically, if you trace and chemical back to its origin, it all comes from nature at some point; the key is in the extraction process,” Tracy says. “Plant-based ingredients are those extracted from the source without the use of synthetic chemicals—typically by using water or ethanol. When you use plant-based, biodegradable products you have zero impact on the environment. It’s important to use a natural household cleaner because it’s what you do every day that matters. That’s what determines your health, and where being environmentally friendly counts the most.”

Fortifying your home against germs, bacteria, and viruses has never been more important. With more and more germs becoming antibiotic-resistant, and with emerging viruses, your recourse should not be to chemical-laden cleaners and sprays, but to all-natural Thieves Household Cleaner.

Homemade Vapor Rub

HM Vicks

I used 5 drops of lemon, 8 drops of Eucalyptus Radiata, 3 drops of Peppermint, and 2 drops of RC, I filled the rest of the container with melted Coconut Oil, stirred it together. I then put it in the fridge for about an hour to harden the mixture back up. It is now ready to be used as needed.

The container was bought from Abundant Health, it is the 1oz salve container with a pressure sensitive liner. I have two of these and they are fairly easy to reuse once the contents is gone. I would also recommend buying a label machine if you do not want to write on the lid and or reuse the container for something else later. For me these containers are inexpensive so I will probably just order some more, I only bought two in my initial order because I wanted to try them out first to see if I liked them. People also use the small Bell Jars that you can use for canning. I use those for much larger batches of recipes. This I only needed to make this amount because children’s chests aren’t really that big. I use this on the chest and on the bottoms of the feet. Remember this recipe is meant to only be used with Young Living Essential Oils!

Copaiba Essential Oil

Unlike any other essential oil, Copaiba is tapped directly from the tree rather than distilled. The main ingredient in Stress Away Essential Oil blend, Copaiba can be used aromatically to promote a sense of calm. Only the Brazilian copal or Copaiba has a GRAS distinction in the U.S. and has the most published research.

Some of the uses of this Essential oil are as follows:

  1.  You can use 1 to 2 drops per 1 to 2 drops of carrier oil on spot of dicomfort.Skin Disorders,
  2. Add this with a carrier oil and rub on troubled spot on skin.
  3. Insect Bites, one drop directly on insect bite will reduce discomfort
  4. Diffuse a couple of drops in your diffuser or sniff directly from bottle for a calming effect.

My Sunday

First Hike04

I normally try to take Sundays off so I have time to spend it with my family and kids. We went for a hike yesterday in Mt Rainier National Forest. It was amazingly gorgeous yesterday and it has been unseasonably warm for the past few weeks. So warm in fact that all of the spring flowers and trees are blooming. Which is unheard of this time of year!

Well I took a couple of Essential Oils on my hike with me, just in case. I took Deep Relief Roll On in case there was some kind of pain that might happen along the way and Lavender. Lavender has become my go to for everything. Instead of Neosporin I now carry that bad boy around with me.

I have found it heals cuts a lot faster. Well anyway, luckily I didn’t need it nor did anyone else. I did though make myself a bath soak last night because I was just so tired, this being the first hike of the season and all. I made the bath soak with Epson Salt and PanAway with a touch of Lavender. This morning I woke up with just one soar spot that I rubbed my Deep Relief on. I am for sure loving this Essential Oil lifestyle.

Here are some pictures from our amazing day~
